Avoiding Foreclosure is Hard, But Do You Really Want to Move?
We are living in the worst economy since the Great Depression of the 1930’s. Unemployment is roughly ten percent on average around the country, and one in seven homes is now in foreclosure. This is a pretty grim picture; companies are still laying off and downsizing. People are still losing jobs to foreign markets, because the workers there will work for one-fourth or even one-tenth the price. You can avoid foreclosure, but it will not be easy.
Hire a foreclosure attorney, or a reputable mortgage negotiator. Call your lender to explain the circumstances, and arrange acceptable repayment plans before your loan is escalated, and you get the awful letter telling you that you must pay everything, including interest and legal fees, at once, or lose your home. A good mortgage negotiator or foreclosure attorney can help you negotiate terms with your lender that are acceptable to you and your lender. You may have to file Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy in order to keep your home. This is a last resort option. There are many different laws around the country that can be used to your advantage to keep your home, but only a good attorney can tell you what is best in your situation.
Keeping your home out of foreclosure is difficult and stressful. If you want to keep your home, and not face the humiliation of being evicted by the local sheriff’s department, call a lawyer.
